Polish Pickup and Indie Pickup are right around the corner with an 80’s theme! Since I was born in the early 80’s (I’ll let you do that math), there are so many inspirational pieces that make me think of my childhood. KBShimmer’s inspiration is Rainbow Brite and Pop Rocks.
Here’s how Polish Pickup and Indie Pickup work:
First: Vote on a theme
Next: Watch as makers create based on the theme
Finally: SHOP! The first Friday – Monday of the month is shopping time! Choose from as few or as many brands as you like and shop with the convenience of flat rate shipping.

Overview
Since there are two different inspirations I’m going to break each one down separately.

Release Information: The Brite Stuff and Wacky Watermelon Popping Bath Powder will be available from Friday May, 3rd at 11:00am through Monday, May 6th at 11:50pm eastern time. You can shop both items on the Pickups website.
The Brite Stuff
Price: $10
First things first, can you say The Brite Stuff without singing it to the tune of the New Kids on the Block song? Because I can’t! If you doing know the song, go do a quick Google search for New Kids On The Block – You Got It (The Right Stuff).
The Brite stuff is inspired by Rainbow Brite. Rainbow Brite is one of the 80’s icons I feel everyone knows. Even if you didn’t own a doll, or watch the cartoon or even read the comics if you saw a picture you could pick out Rainbow Brite. The leader of the Color Kids that spread color through the world using star sprinkles.

The Brite Stuff perfectly matches it’s inspiration: a bright blue thermal while cool that goes to a lighter blue to a white as it gets warmer filled with small rainbow colored glitters. Naturally drying to a flat almost matte finish and takes two coats to cover your nail line. Each bottle comes with a small bag of rainbow colored star sprinkles so you too can bring color to the world!

Popping Bath Powder
Price: $10
Size: 9.5 ounces
Who would grab a handful of Pop Rocks candy and savor the sweet tart flavor while feeling the sizzle and sometimes painful pop of the candies? I recently let my boys try Pop Rocks and it was such an amusing experience hearing their reactions.

You don’t have to worry about the Popping Bath Powder popping you but there is a pop and sizzle sound effect coupled with the flavorful watermelon scent. The powder contains pure cocoa butter with added moisturizing coconut milk powder. It provides a silky, skin-softening luxurious soak so you can have that “Calgon, take me away” moment.
How to use: use the provided scoop to add 1-2 scoops for mani/pedi or 3-4 scoops for a full bath of warm water.
Below is a video of Popping Bath Powder and as a bonus you get to see The Brite Stuff in its thermal changing glory. I even included some of the rainbow star sprinkles because it’s fun and it’s pretty so why not!
There is no sound in the video so you unfortunately won’t get to hear the popping. I have three little boys and there is no such thing as quiet time in the house.
