Sassy Sauce Polish – November Salute Collection

*Press Sample

Sassy Sauce Polish is releasing an AMAZING collection for November! Inspired by the song Salute by Little Mix this collection is sure to get your heart pumping just like the song. Be sure to click that link and listen (and dance!) to the song while you read. Salute is the first song I’ve heard from Little Mix. Immediately the I could feel the beat. The song is all about women empowering and supporting women. Great song and great inspiration.

Hopefully everyone is staying warm. Personally, I can’t complain too much, it’s definitely cold here and we’ve had some freezing rain. But we don’t have snow like I’ve seen so many of you share. I don’t have much to chatter about so…

Let’s jump right in!

Pretty Beautiful Unlimited – Zombies Can Be Princesses Too: Villains Edition

*Press Sample

How many of you remember last year when Pretty Beautiful Unlimited released the Zombies Can Be Princesses Too collection? The collection was a gorgeous take on showing the dark side of Princesses.  Virginia is expanding on the collection with an edition inspired by the villains.

This last week was super long. I’ve been suffering from a migraine, and although the worst of the pain is gone, the constant dull pain is still lingering.  Swatching this collection gave me something to focus on other than the pain. It doesn’t take a clear head to see how absolutely amazing these colors look!

Let’s take a look at some of the photos that gave this collection it’s inspiration.

I have a confession to make. I don’t know much about about the inspiration for this polish. This is a pretty big fandom and I know it’s inconceivable for someone to not have seen a single episode. And here I am, that person. Thank goodness I can still love on this polish!

Pretty Beautiful Unlimited brings us The Chosen One for the Bad A** Women themed Polish Pickup. Virginia gets her inspiration from one of her favorite shows, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Here is what I know about Buffy: It was created by a fandom genius, Joss Whedon; it stars Sarah Michelle Gellar; and taking a wild stab in the dark, she fights vampires. Here’s what I can tell you about this polish: It’s gorgeous!

Static Lacquer – November Polish Pickup

*Press Sample

It’s time for Polish Pickup! This has been a very anticipated release from Static Lacquer. Last month Stacy’s creation was “No Man Can Kill Me” inspired by the Lord of Morgul. For this month’s Bad A** Women theme we have it’s counterpart, “I Am No Man”, inspired by Eowyn also from J. R. R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings.

Eowyn was ordered to stay behind while the rest of the men went off to war. Though Eowyn was “just a woman” she was known to be fearless and loved by all. So when aid was needed again in Mordor, Eowyn disguised herself as a man to join the battle.

Sassy Sauce Polish – October Fantasy Fandom Collection

You guys!! I am so excited to share this collection! The October Sassy Sauce Polish Fantasy Fandom Collection is all about STAR WARS!! If you attended the Minneapolis Polish Con back in September, you were able to see this collection and grab it for yourself. For those of us who sadly missed the event, it is time to make them yours!

I don’t know if many of you know this about me but I’m a big ol’ geek. I love to cosplay and have even created a costume and dressed up as a Jedi when they released Episode 1. This collection spoke to my heart since Star Wars is one of my favorite fandoms. I was over the Death Star to pull out my Star Wars stamping plate on a day other than May the Fifth.

Let’s take a look at all the colors releasing in the Fantasy Fandom Collection.

“Magic Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?” You know who said this quote! She’s been giving little girls nightmares since 1938. October is Villain month over at Polish Pickup and Pretty Beautiful Unlimited picked an OG, original gangsta, The Evil Queen.

Let’s do a quick recap on the ins and outs of Polish Pickup:

How it works!

First, we vote on a theme. Then, participating makers, get to work on their inspiration and creations, while dropping little teasers for us to drool over. Finally, the first Friday – Monday of the month is shopping time! Choose from as few or as many brands as you like and shop with the convenience of flat rate shipping.

Let’s look at Virginia’s Evil Queen inspiration photo.

Group customs are always fun. A lot of the time the makers let the fans pick and vote on inspiration pics. Here is the winning photo Virginia with Pretty Beautiful Unlimited used to create this gorgeous polish.

Static Lacquer – October’s California Lovin’ Indies

The California Lovin’ Indies duo is back! For the month of October, Static Lacquer is teaming up with another amazing brand, Fanchromatic Nails. The inspiration behind the duo is the Winchester Mystery House.

The Winchester home was built by Sarah Winchester and is located in San Jose, California. Without the use of an architect, Sarah Winchester used her tremendous wealth to purchase an unfinished farmhouse in the Santa Clara Valley. Carpenters worked day and night to build this mysterious seven story mansion (now reduced to four stories). This historical landmark is filled with numerous oddities such as doors and stairs that lead to nowhere, windows overlooking other rooms and secret corridors.

Let’s take a look at the inspiration behind the duo.

The theme for this October’s Polish Pickup is Villains. There are many ways you can pick a villain. Stacy chose a classic villain as her inspiration. We’re going to J. R. R. Tolkien’s world of Lord of the Rings! The Lord of Morgul, the Lord of the Nazgûl is one of the chief servants of major baddie Sauron. His famous line “You fool, no man can kill me.” is the quote that gives this polish it’s name. Stacy has made a deep dark polish worthy of it’s inspiration.

How many of you have read the Lord of the Rings books or has seen all the movies? Even though the series was turned into a major motion picture series, for me it will always been connected to books. The inspiration photo is taken from the movie but I also wanted to connect the books to the polish so I pulled my love of books into the nail art. Before we jump into the details and swatch photos, let’s take at look at the photo that inspired No Man Can Kill Me.
