Music City Beauty debuted in Hella Handmade Creations (HHC) last month. If you’re not familiar with HHC the concept goes like this: Each participating maker picks their theme and for the next six months they release a creation based on that theme. Shop from a variety of makers while getting the convenience of one stop shopping.

One Hit Wonders is the Music City Beauty six month theme. This month release is inspired by the Soft Cell single’s album cover to Tainted Love.

Let’s take a look at the polish with the same name.

Overview

You won’t want to run away from this Tainted Love! Soft Cell released Tainted Love in the US in 1982. Believe it or not even though Soft Cell made the song famous they are not the original artist of the song. It was originally recorded by Gloria Jones in 1964. In fact, the song became so popular it has been featured in films and even more artists have made covers of the song, including artists of other genres like Marilyn Manson.

Soft Cell’s version of Tainted Love ranked number 5 on VH1’s 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders of the 1980s.

Release Information: Available on Tuesday, May 14th at 12:01 am est and will end on Tuesday, May 21st at 11:50 pm hst on the Hella Handmade Creations website. There is a cap of 60 bottles with the price set at $12.50

Tainted Love

This is a cotton candy pink crelly with opal-esque iridescent flakies that shift green/blue/gold and fuchsia. To build up the color and add some extra flakie umph I applied three coats of this glossy polish for my swatch photos.
